A special show for me as Sweeney was the first Broadway show I ever saw. As a tribute to its original splendor and horror - and since we had just come out of the 2024 "summer of strikes" - the original "factory setting" seemed all too appropriate. With a terrific cast of 19 and a great team of designers, this was an ambitious and successful show for our Marquette Theatre program. Every show was sold out!

"The script plays it very tightly between horror and comedy. The overall production does a very good job of articulating between both dynamics. There’s an overwhelming intensity in the tragedy of the course of events that feels remarkably well brought to the stage. It’s a powerful vortex of events which gradually escalate in a thoroughly satisfying and often electrifying musical nightmare for the stage." - Russ Bickerstaff
